Calling all Kinks & Curls // Original Moxie Giveaway and Review

My friends over at Original Moxie were kind enough to send me a few products to try out and some to share with a few lucky winners! I received a total of eight products and can’t wait for YOU to try them. Keep reading to learn more about each product and to find out how YOU can win one of FIVE mini combo kits designed to fit your needs! Get Clean! No-Foam Shampoo THIS. IS. A. STAPLE. It’s the only Shampoo I’ve ever truly loved. Get Clean! “takes a gentler approach, harnessing the cleansing properties of Yucca Root & Soapnut to remove excess oil without disturbing your scalp’s natural balance.” Just like with any other shampoo, I focus on really massaging the product into my scalp (in about 6 sections) and then let it cleanse the length of my strands while I’m rinsing it out. I can actually detangle my hair with this shampoo (a first) and it doesn’t leave my hair feeling brittle or striped. I have eczema, so my skin is prone to dryness, but …

Get Smooth Skin for Spring with Derma E

Say hello to Spring with smooth skin thanks to Derma E! I’ve been testing out their newest line of products designed specially for people with eczema and/or psoriasis – and I’m here to tell you it works! Keep reading for details on an exciting giveaway! I’ve had eczema my entire life and finding a way to manage it has been difficult because I am not particularly fond of medication. As a kid, I had it on my elbows. It vanished for a few years and now I get flare-ups on my right hand which can be kind of embarrassing when I’m shaking hands with someone or holding a microphone. I am very cautious when it comes to what I put in or on my body. Thankfully companies like Derma E are making products that are safe for everyone! The Psorzma line is a collection of powerful, plant powered non-prescriptions that are very gentle and effective. The Scalp Relief Shampoo has a mild tea tree oil scent and is incredibly soothing on the scalp. It’s particularly …

Epic Beauty Bar Haul

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on the blog which is quite sad seeing as I have plenty of unfinished drafts in my queue, but I am trying to rededicate myself to blogging about all things beautiful! Somewhere along the trip back home my skin seems to have set up camp in struggle city and NYC’s humidity has become it’s silent but deadly killer. I’m talking breakouts and my knight in itchy armor, eczema. I’ve been doing loads of research on how to heal sensitive skin and see this as a wonderful opportunity  to fall in love with skincare all over again (and to release my inner product junkie). I’ve learned several things about my sensitive skin on this journey (did you know coconut oil isn’t for everyone?) and look forward to learning, and sharing, more. I’ll be testing out a new routine over the course of the next few weeks and will be sharing my tips on battling the humidity. Here’s a short haul on my purchases from Epic Beauty Bar. Stephanie and …

Energizing Scalp Exfoliant!

Missing that fresh-from-the-salon, tingly scalp feeling? I know I do! It’s like hair stylists have magic hands. I don’t know how they do it but they manage to scratch your scalp in the most satisfying way known to man, leaving you itch free for days! From time to time I suffer from that incredibly embarrassing itchy scalp that makes the person sitting next to you want to  run away in fear of getting lice (rest assured friends, not a single louse has nested upon this head). It’s that itch you can’t resist, but in a few moments you will have the perfect weapon to nip that pain in the bud! We exfoliate our face and our bodies (or at least we should), but I think most people forget about their scalp. The scalp is just like the rest of your body, and trust me you need to exfoliate it! Sometimes our products, dead skin, and sebum get stuck on our scalp and shampooing isn’t always enough to get rid  of it. Making an exfoliant is pretty simple. Just …

Aubrey Organics GPB Balancing Conditioner (Lavendar & Ylang Ylang)

Beauty Bolts: ϟϟϟϟϟ Let me start out by saying that this conditioner is absolutely fantastic! I used to use it a couple years ago (back when it only came in one scent). I loved the product, but I stopped using it after the first bottle ran out because it smelt soooo bad. After suffering some massive breakage, and hearing about the new scents, I decided to give it another go! Glycoprotein and Milk protein work to smooth and strengthen each strand of hair, while aloe replenishes moisture. I prefer to use the conditioner the night before I wash my hair, as a deep conditioner. When I get up, I finger detangle and then hop in the shower and wash my hair as per usual. I have a lot of hair, but it is very fine and usually gets tangled when I shampoo. My hair was pretty much tangle free while I washed my hair and I had very little post-wash breakage! My hair was left feeling soft, shiny, and smooth which is not a normal …
